Magee Rangers Closed for 2026 Season - During the fall of 2025, Forest Service employees identified extensive rot and decay in the foundation and subfloor of the Magee Ranger’s Cabin. At this point, the Forest Service is not offering reservations for the 2026 season.
Little Guard Lookout
Little Guard Lookout Closed - In 2025, Little Guard was closed for extensive restoration work. To date, this work is 70% complete, and requires ~4 week of dry weather to complete. Additionally, since a December 17th, 2025 wind storm, hundreds of trees have fallen across the road that accesses the Little Guard Lookout. The Forest Service expects these fallen trees to take 2-3 weeks, in the snow free months of 2026, to clear. Due to these two delays, the Forest Service is not offering reservations for Little Guard Lookout for the 2026 season.
