Teacher Bay Campground
Open seasonally, typically June through September, weather and conditions permitting. No fee, first-come first-served. Campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash.
About
Teacher Bay Campground sits on the shores of Upper Priest Lake in Idaho's Panhandle National Forests, offering a primitive backcountry camping experience. The campground is accessible only by boat or by hiking the Lakeshore Trail from Navigation Campground. Upper Priest Lake is part of the Upper Priest Lake Scenic Area, a pristine mountain lake surrounded by the Selkirk Mountains. The remote setting means campers should come fully prepared with all supplies including drinking water. Upper Priest Lake prohibits towing activities like water skiing and requires no-wake speed through the Thorofare connecting it to main Priest Lake. This makes the area ideal for paddlers seeking quiet wilderness camping.
Directions
Access Upper Priest Lake by boating north on Priest Lake through the two-mile Thorofare waterway. Teacher Bay is located on the eastern shore of Upper Priest Lake. Alternatively, hike the Lakeshore Trail from Navigation Campground.
