Berlin Flats Group Campground offers groups an escape in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests along Shoshone Creek, near the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River. The group area was formed from 9 single family sites and can accommodate up to 75 people, making it ideal for large gatherings and group camping trips. The campground is located about 70 miles from Coeur d'Alene Lake in a scenic forested setting. The campground sits among lodgepole and mixed conifers at an elevation of 2,600 feet. Wildlife watchers and photographers have opportunities to see mule deer, moose, osprey and calliope hummingbirds in the area. Catch-and-release cutthroat trout fishing is popular on both Shoshone Creek and the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River, while rafting, swimming and kayaking are favorite activities on the water. Access requires driving 28 miles east on Interstate 90 from Coeur d'Alene, then 26 miles north on Forest Road #9 from the Kingston exit, 5 miles north from Prichard on Forest Road #208, and 9 miles north on Forest Road #412, which is paved except for 2 miles. Bears frequent the area, so proper food storage is required. A 14-day stay limit is strictly enforced during any 30-consecutive day period.
