About

Luby Bay Campground is located on the western shore of Priest Lake at 2,500 feet elevation, surrounded by the Selkirk Mountains. The densely wooded campground features 53 secluded sites shaded by hemlock and cedar, divided into upper and lower sections. Upper Luby has paved roads and gravel parking spurs, while Lower Luby offers paved parking spurs with some waterfront sites directly on the lake. The campground provides flush toilets, water hydrants, and a dual-bay RV dump station. Lower Luby includes a large day use area with picnic facilities, an amphitheater for interpretive programs, and a swimming beach with buoys. Visitors enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and power boating on Priest Lake, with the option to navigate the 3.5-mile thoroughfare to Upper Priest Lake Scenic Area. Fishing, swimming, birding, and wildlife viewing are popular activities. The 8-mile Beach Trail #48 loops around the southern part of Priest Lake and can be accessed directly from the campground. Other nearby trails include Woodrat Trail #235 and Bulldog Trail #274. The area offers authorized off-road vehicle trails, and in winter, hundreds of miles of groomed trails for nordic skiing and snowmobiling.
