About

Luby Bay Campground occupies a prime location on Priest Lake's west shore, 28 miles north of Priest River, Idaho. The 53 campsites are split between Upper and Lower loops, with paved roads throughout and paved parking spurs in Lower Luby (gravel in Upper). Lower loop sites offer waterfront access, while all sites benefit from dense hemlock and cedar cover providing excellent privacy and shade at 2,500 feet elevation. Visitors enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and power boating up the 3.5-mile thoroughfare to the Upper Priest Lake Scenic Area, which cannot be reached by car. Fishing, swimming, birding, and wildlife viewing are popular. Beach Trail #48, an 8-mile scenic loop around Priest Lake's southern portion, is accessible directly from the campground. The campground provides pressurized drinking water, flush toilets, bear-resistant dumpsters and food storage boxes, and a dual-bay RV dump station. Lower Luby includes a large day-use area with picnic facilities and an amphitheater hosting interpretive programs. A 14-day stay limit is strictly enforced.
