About

Honeysuckle Campground offers a remote camping experience in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, situated at the scenic confluence of Deception Creek and the Little North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River. Renovated in 1994, the campground consists of seven individual sites that collectively operate as a group camping area, accommodating up to 50 people. The facility features paved campground roads and parking spurs, making it accessible while maintaining its backcountry character. The campground is located 22 miles from Coeur d'Alene, accessed via Fernan Lake Road and Forest Road 612. The remote location provides excellent opportunities for fishing in the river, hiking through forested terrain, ATV and side-by-side riding on nearby trails, mountain biking, and bird watching. The wooded setting and confluence location make it an ideal base for exploring the Coeur d'Alene River drainage. Amenities include potable well water via a hand pump and vault toilets. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day and is available for reservation through Recreation.gov. The paved infrastructure and group configuration make it suitable for family reunions, scout groups, and other organized gatherings seeking a forest camping experience.

Directions
