About
Brush Lake Picnic Area is a day-use recreation site in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, located in the Lower Kootenai River Region near the Canadian border. The area features 4 picnic sites with vault toilets, providing a quiet spot for day visitors to enjoy the scenic lake setting. The site offers access to Brush Lake for boating, lake and ice fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing. Note that boat launching can become difficult in late summer and fall when water levels are low. Mountain biking is also available in the surrounding area. This is a day-use only facility with no overnight camping. There is no potable water available, so visitors should bring their own. The area is free to use on a first-come, first-served basis and is open from May through October.
