Beaver Creek A-Frame Cabin is situated on the St. Joe Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests in the heart of the Bitterroot Mountains. This large A-frame structure accommodates up to 10 people and provides basic shelter in a heavily forested, rugged, and remote setting. The cabin includes two twin beds, a dining table, a wood stove for heating, an outdoor wash basin, and a vault toilet. A nearby stream provides water that must be filtered for drinking. The cabin is located only a few miles from the St. Joe Wild and Scenic River and the historic Red Ives Ranger Station. The surrounding area is well known for its abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities, including extensive motorized and non-motorized trail systems, ATV and UTV riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, berry picking, and sightseeing. The Mallard Larkins Pioneer Area and Snow Peak WMA are nearby attractions. Access requires driving approximately 76 miles east from St. Maries on Highway 50 (St. Joe River Rd) to Red Ives Road 218, then about 8 miles on Road 218 to Beaver Creek Road 303, and finally 3 miles to the cabin. The area is extremely remote with no cell service. The closest towns with amenities are St. Regis, Montana (approximately 39 miles) and Avery, Idaho (approximately 40 miles).

Directions

From St. Maries, take Highway 50 (St. Joe River Rd) east approximately 76 miles to Red Ives Road 218. Continue on Road 218 for about 8 miles to Beaver Creek Road 303, then 3 miles to the cabin. The cabin is located approximately two miles up Beaver Creek from the St. Joe River. No cell service in the area.
