About

Cedar Creek Campground is a small, primitive camping destination managed by the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, located along the St. Maries River in the St. Joe River Region. The campground features just 3 campsites, making it an intimate and quiet retreat for those seeking a more rustic experience. The facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. The campground provides vault toilets but lacks potable water, so visitors must bring adequate water supplies for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. A Pack it In Pack it Out waste management system is in effect, requiring campers to carry out all trash and refuse. Each campsite accommodates up to 2 vehicles, with an additional third vehicle permitted for an extra fee. The primary attraction is fishing access to the St. Maries River, which flows alongside the campground. The location offers a peaceful setting for anglers and campers seeking solitude. The campground is easily accessible directly off State Highway 3, positioned about 3 miles north of Clarkia and 28 miles south of St. Maries. The area closes seasonally during winter months due to snow and weather conditions.
