Smith Lake Campground is a quiet, rustic campground nestled in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests in Boundary County. Located at Smith Lake, the campground features 7 campsites available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Basic amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump. The campground also includes a day-use area with 3 picnic units and a boat ramp providing access to Smith Lake. The lake is popular for fishing, boating, and swimming in summer, and ice fishing and skating in winter. Due to its high elevation, access is dependent on snowpack conditions. To reach the campground, travel north on US 95 from Bonners Ferry to the junction with US 2, continue north on US 95 for 2.2 miles, then turn east on Smith Lake Road (County Road #36) for 2.3 miles to the lake and campground.
