About

Marble Creek Campground is a primitive Forest Service campground tucked along Marble Creek Road (FR 321) in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. With only 2 campsites, this rustic facility offers a quiet, secluded camping experience away from more developed recreation areas. The campground provides basic amenities including a vault toilet but no potable water, so campers must bring their own supplies. The Marble Creek area is rich in early 20th-century logging history, with remnants of historic logging camps, splash dams, and an old incline railroad visible along the trail system. The creek itself offers good fishing opportunities, and the surrounding forest produces excellent huckleberry picking when in season. The nearby Marble Creek Trail system provides access to multiple trails including Trail #261, #251, and #273 for hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing. Access to the campground requires driving 35 miles east of St. Maries on Forest Highway 50 to the Marble Creek Historical Site, then continuing approximately 6 miles south on Forest Road 321. The road is not maintained in winter and access depends on seasonal snowmelt conditions.
