About
Beaver Creek Campground occupies a prime location on the northwest shore of Priest Lake in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. At 2,500 feet elevation, the campground is shaded by towering hemlock and cedar trees with sweeping views of the Selkirk Mountains across the lake's reflective waters. The site offers 41 individual reservable campsites and one group site accommodating up to 35 guests. The campground serves as a basecamp for exploring the Priest Lake area. Two trailheads provide access to the 9-mile Navigation Trail heading north and the 8-mile Lakeshore Trail heading south, both popular with hikers and horseback riders. A nearby beach offers swimming access, and a primitive boat launch accommodates vessels up to 20 feet. Kayakers and canoeists can paddle the 2.5-mile Thorofare channel to reach the Upper Priest Lake Scenic Area, known for excellent birding. Anglers find abundant trout fishing in both Beaver Creek and Priest Lake. Amenities include drinking water from hand pumps (note: spigots cannot fill RV tanks, bring containers), vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. A food storage order is in effect due to bear activity. Generator use is limited to 6 AM to 10 PM. The 14-day stay limit is strictly enforced.
Directions
From Priest River, Idaho, take Highway 57 north to Nordman, then turn right on Reeder Bay Road and continue for 12 miles into the campground.
