About

Conrad Crossing Campground sits along the St. Joe Wild and Scenic River in Idaho Panhandle National Forests, offering 8 campsites in a remote riverside setting. Two sites are located directly on the river, while five are positioned above the highway. The campground serves as an excellent base for river-based recreation, with raft access available for floating the St. Joe River, particularly popular through mid-June when water levels are optimal. The campground features vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump, typically available from June through September or October. Visitors must observe a Pack it In Pack it Out refuse policy, as there is no trash service. Each site accommodates up to 2 vehicles, with a third vehicle available for an additional fee and a maximum of 3 vehicles per site. Located 28 miles east of Avery, Idaho, along the St. Joe River Road (Forest Highway 50), Conrad Crossing provides access to the historic Montana Trail and blue-ribbon cutthroat trout fishing. The area's remote location and riverside setting make it ideal for those seeking a primitive camping experience along one of Idaho's most scenic waterways.
