Big Hank

Big Hank Campground is located in a heavily wooded area on the banks of the North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River and Big Hank Creek within Idaho Panhandle National Forest. At 2,800 feet elevation, the campground occupies Big Hank Meadow and provides excellent river access for fishing and water recreation. Wildlife including mule deer, moose, osprey, and calliope hummingbirds are frequently spotted in the area. The campground features approximately 30 spacious campsites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet. All sites have paved parking spurs with back-in access. Amenities include vault toilets, drinking water from hand pumps, picnic tables, and established fire rings. No electric hookups are available. Shore fishing for cutthroat trout is a major draw, along with summer tubing on the river and Class I-III whitewater rafting. Hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails are a short drive away, including routes to Centennial Falls, Shadow Falls, and the Settler's Grove of Ancient Cedars. The campground also serves as a base camp for hunters during season.

Directions

From Kingston on I-90, take Exit 43 to FH-9 and drive 20 miles north to Prichard, then turn left and continue 17 miles north on Forest Highway 208 to the campground.
