Maiden Rock Campground
Open seasonally May through September. No fees required. No potable water available; bring your own supply.
About
Maiden Rock is a remote day-use area on the scenic west shore of Lake Pend Oreille in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. Accessible only by boat, the site sits approximately 6 miles south of Garfield Bay and offers a peaceful escape from developed recreation areas. The location provides access to Maiden Creek Trail #231 and offers stunning views of the lake. The site features 4 picnic units with fire rings, a vault toilet, and a swimming beach. While designated primarily as a picnic ground, unimproved sites suitable for dispersed camping are available in the immediate area for those seeking an overnight backcountry experience. There is no fee to use this site, but campers must bring their own drinking water as none is provided. The area is open seasonally from May through September. Due to its boat-only access, visitors should be prepared for a self-sufficient wilderness experience with minimal amenities.
