About

Maiden Rock Campground is a remote, boat-access only camping and picnicking destination situated on the west shore of Lake Pend Oreille in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. Accessible only by watercraft, this primitive site is located approximately 6 miles south of Garfield Bay, offering visitors a true backcountry experience on Idaho's largest and deepest lake. The campground features 4 designated picnic units equipped with fire rings, along with unimproved sites suitable for dispersed camping in the surrounding area. A vault toilet provides basic sanitation facilities, and a swimming beach offers access to the clear waters of Lake Pend Oreille. The site sits beneath the dramatic Maiden Rock granite formation, which towers nearly 300 feet above the water. This is a primitive, no-fee camping area with no potable water available. Campers must bring all necessary supplies by boat, including drinking water. The remote location and boat-only access make this an ideal destination for boaters seeking solitude and a peaceful lakeside camping experience away from developed campgrounds.
