About

Geisinger Campground is a remote backcountry campground situated at the entrance to Upper Priest Lake where The Thorofare meets the lake. This primitive campground features just three campsites, each equipped with a fire ring, picnic table, and bear-proof storage box. The intimate setting provides excellent access to Upper Priest Lake for boating, fishing, and exploring the surrounding wilderness. Accessibility is part of the adventure at Geisinger. The campground can only be reached by boat or by hiking in via Upper Priest Lake Trail #302, making it an ideal destination for those seeking solitude and a genuine backcountry experience. The campground operates under a pack it in, pack it out policy, meaning all garbage must be carried out. Vault toilets are provided, but no drinking water is available on-site. The campground operates seasonally from May through September and is available on a first-come, first-served basis for $15 per night. Each site accommodates a maximum of 8 people with a 14-day camping limit. Pets are welcome but must be leashed at all times. Additional rules include no glass bottles on the beach, no bathing or washing dishes in the lake, and quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
