About

Huckleberry Campground is a primitive camping area managed by the U.S. Forest Service within the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, specifically the Sandpoint Ranger District. Located in the remote mountains of northern Bonner County, the campground provides a rustic backcountry camping experience. The Sandpoint Ranger District is centered around Pend Oreille Lake and its major tributaries including the Clark Fork River, Lightning Creek, and Pack River. The surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and seasonal huckleberry picking that gives the campground its name. As a primitive Forest Service campground, facilities are minimal. Campers should come prepared for a self-sufficient backcountry experience and practice Leave No Trace principles.
