About

Berlin Flats Group Area is located along Shoshone Creek near the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. This group campground was formed from 9 single family sites and can accommodate up to 75 people, making it ideal for large gatherings and group camping trips during the summer season. The campground sits among lodgepole and other mixed pines at an elevation of 2,600 feet, about 70 miles from Coeur d'Alene Lake. The setting provides excellent opportunities for catch-and-release cutthroat trout fishing on both Shoshone Creek and the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River. Rafting, swimming, and kayaking are popular activities on the river during warm weather months. Wildlife watchers and photographers have chances to observe mule deer, moose, osprey, and calliope hummingbirds in the surrounding forest. The campground includes vault toilets, but campers must bring their own water as potable water is not available on-site. Access requires traveling forest roads, with the final 2 miles unpaved.

Directions

From Coeur d'Alene, travel 28 miles east on Interstate 90 to Kingston exit. Turn left and travel 26 miles north on paved Forest Road 9 to Prichard. Continue 5 miles north on paved Forest Road 208, then turn right on Forest Road 412 and continue 9 miles (paved except for the final 2 miles).
