About

Donkey Creek Campground offers a remote, primitive camping experience in the Marble Creek watershed of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. Located southwest of Avery and administered by the St. Joe Ranger District, this small campground provides just two designated sites along the banks of Marble Creek at approximately 2,900 feet elevation. The campground features basic amenities including a vault toilet and fire rings with grills. Campers must bring all their own water and pack out all trash, as this is a leave-no-trace area with no potable water or trash services. The setting along Marble Creek provides good fishing access and a scenic forested backdrop. Access is via Forest Service Road 321, a remote forest road that can be rough and is subject to seasonal closures due to snow or maintenance. The campground typically operates from June through October, depending on weather conditions and road accessibility.

Directions

From Avery, Idaho, travel southwest on Forest Service Road 321. The campground is located approximately 5.6 miles south of the FSR 321 and FSR 396 intersection in the Marble Creek watershed.
