About

Beaver Creek Campground is a primitive, no-fee camping area located along Beaver Creek in the St. Joe Wild and Scenic River corridor of Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The site offers a basic backcountry camping experience in one of Idaho's most scenic river valleys, surrounded by dense coniferous forests and rugged mountain terrain. The St. Joe River corridor is renowned for its exceptional cutthroat trout fishing, whitewater recreation, and abundant wildlife. The area provides access to extensive trail systems for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, as well as opportunities to explore the surrounding roadless and primitive areas. As a primitive Forest Service site, campers should come prepared to be self-sufficient. The nearest services are available in Avery, Idaho. This is first-come, first-served camping with a 14-day stay limit. Dispersed camping along the St. Joe River Road may have seasonal restrictions from spring to mid-July for wildlife protection.

Directions

From Avery, Idaho, travel east on St. Joe River Road for approximately 29 miles. Turn right onto Red Ives Road (Forest Road 218) and continue for about 8 miles to the campground.
