About
Kit Price Campground sits along the banks of the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River in the Coeur d'Alene Mountains of northern Idaho. The campground underwent a complete renovation in 2021, including new tables, fire rings, paved parking spurs, and restrooms. All 57 sites are standard nonelectric and accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet. The meadow-like setting offers full to partial sun in the river bottom. The North Fork Coeur d'Alene River provides excellent recreational opportunities. Tubing, swimming, and kayaking are popular summer activities, while rafters head downstream for Class I-III rapids. Catch-and-release fishing for cutthroat trout draws anglers to the riverbanks. Wildlife in the region includes mule deer, moose, osprey, and calliope hummingbirds. Recent tree removal improved safety and forest health; new plantings are planned to restore the natural appearance. The Idaho Panhandle Seasonal Food Storage Order is in effect, requiring proper food storage in bear-resistant containers or vehicles. A 14-day stay limit per 30-day period is strictly enforced.
Directions
From Coeur d'Alene, drive 28 miles east on Interstate 90, then 26 miles north (Kingston exit) on paved Forest Road 9, then 11 miles north from Prichard on paved Forest Road 208.
