About

Plowboy Campground is a remote, primitive camping destination located on the southwest shores of Upper Priest Lake within the Upper Priest Lake Scenic Area of Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The campground offers five rustic campsites, each equipped with fire rings, picnic tables, and bear-proof storage boxes, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Selkirk Crest mountains. Accessible only by boat or by hiking the Navigation Trail, Plowboy provides a true backcountry experience in an undeveloped scenic area. The campground features vault toilets but no potable water, requiring campers to bring their own supply. A strict pack it in, pack it out policy applies to all garbage. The remote location offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, backpacking, and wildlife viewing in a pristine mountain lake setting. The campground operates seasonally from June through September with a 14-day camping limit and maximum of 8 people per site. Pets must be leashed at all times with leashes no longer than 6 feet. Additional regulations include no glass bottles on the beach, no bathing or washing dishes in the lake, quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and no fireworks.

Directions

Southwest end of Upper Priest Lake, accessible only by boat or by hiking the Navigation Trail. The Navigation Trail is an 8.1-mile trail accessed from the Navigation Trailhead on the north end of Priest Lake.
