...The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in West Virginia... Tygart Valley River at Belington affecting Barbour County. For the Tygart Valley River...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Tygart Valley River at Belington. * WHEN...From Wednesday morning to late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, Some basements begin to flood due to sewers backing up. At 14.0 feet, Intersection of Talbott Road and Wasbash Road flood. At 15.0 feet, Small bridge on Willow Street floods due to backwater into Mill Creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 9.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 15.5 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.2 feet on 12/08/2013. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Flash Flood Warning issued July 21 at 11:31PM EDT until July 22 at 4:45AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA

At 1131 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain has exited Greenbrier County, leaving only light scattered showers. However, between 2 and 4 inches of rain fell earlier this evening, resulting in heavy runoff that quickly filled small creeks and drainages. Some of these small creeks have been reported out of their banks this evening, causing flash flooding of nearby roads near the town of Rupert. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Rainelle... Rupert... Quinwood... Renick... Falling Spring... Anjean... Williamsburg... This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Run, Big Clear Creek, Burdette Creek, Dry Run, Greenbrier River, Little Clear Creek, Little Creek, Meadow River, Beaver Creek, Boggs Creek, Burns Run and Joe Knob Branch.
