Bishop Knob Campground is a 60-unit wooded, semi-primitive campground centrally located on a ridge-top between the Cranberry and Williams Rivers in the Monongahela National Forest. The campground features two loops with 48 single campsites and 6 double sites. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, lantern pole, gravel parking spur, and activity area. The campground can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet in length, though no electric hookups or dump station are available on-site. The campground provides access to excellent trout fishing in the nearby Cranberry and Williams Rivers, requiring a valid West Virginia State Fishing License with National Forest, Conservation, and trout stamps. Nearby hiking opportunities include the Bishop Knob Trail (2.5 miles), Cranberry Ridge Trail (6.0 miles), and Adkins Rockhouse Trail (2.1 miles). Four accessible vault toilets serve the campground. Single sites are limited to one wheeled camping unit (motorhome or travel trailer), up to 8 people, and no more than 2 vehicles. Double sites accommodate up to 16 people. Dogs are permitted on leashes 6 feet or shorter. Maximum stay is 14 days with a 2:00 PM checkout time. The campground is located approximately 13 miles from Richwood, WV and 3 miles from Dyer, WV on Forest Road 101.

Directions

Located off Forest Road 101 in Webster County. From Richwood travel east on State Route 39/55 to Forest Road 76, travel for 6 miles north to Forest Road 81. Follow Forest Road 81 for 6 miles to Forest Road 101. From Dyer, go east on State Route 46 to Forest Road 101. Follow Forest Road 101 3 miles to the campground.
