About

Day Run Campground sits along the upper Williams River in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, within the Monongahela National Forest. The 12 sites occupy a forested setting with many directly bordering the scenic river. Each campsite features a fire ring, wooden picnic table, and lantern post, with several also having tent pads. The campground accommodates both tents and small to midsize trailers, though no hookups are available. The location just off the Highland Scenic Highway provides convenient access to some of the region's best backcountry recreation. The Tea Creek trail system and Cranberry Wilderness are within walking distance, offering extensive hiking opportunities. The Williams River itself draws anglers, and the surrounding forest supports hunting during appropriate seasons. Spring gobbler season and fall foliage draw the heaviest use. Facilities are basic but functional: two vault toilets and trash collection are provided. Campers should bring their own drinking water as none is available on site. Payment of $8 per night is handled via self-service fee station. Maximum stay is 14 days.
