West Shore Loop Campground is situated within Lake Sherwood Recreation Area, a 156-acre destination centered around the largest lake in Monongahela National Forest. The West Shore loop contains approximately 26 campsites along the lake's western shoreline, including standard single sites, double sites, and one electric site (Site 11). Each campsite features a gravel parking spur, tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. The campground offers flush toilets, hot showers, and electricity in the restroom facilities during the summer season. During spring and fall shoulder seasons, vault toilets and a hand pump well provide basic services at reduced rates. A dump station is available on-site for RV waste disposal, though no individual site hookups exist. Accessible facilities include flush and vault toilets, showers, and fishing access points. Lake Sherwood features swimming beaches, a picnic area, boat ramp (electric motors only), and multiple hiking trails ranging from beginner to experienced backpacker difficulty. Reservations through Recreation.gov must be made at least 4 days in advance and can be booked up to 6 months ahead for standard sites.

From White Sulphur Springs: Head northeast on E Main Street, turn left onto WV-92 N/Pocahontas Trail (15.4 mi), turn right onto Lake Sherwood Rd (3.8 mi), continue straight (6.4 mi), turn right to reach the recreation area.
