Located just off State Route 92 in Pocahontas County, Pocahontas Campground is a small primitive campground within the Monongahela National Forest. The campground offers 8 nonelectric sites in a wooded setting, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. A single vault toilet serves the campground. The campground's main attraction is its direct access to the Two Lick Trail system. The trailhead for Two Lick Trail #456 and Two Lick Bottom Trail #457 is located at the campground entrance, making it ideal for hikers and mountain bikers who want easy access to trails. Just three miles away is the Rimel Area Trailhead and Picnic Area, providing access to Laurel Creek Trail #466 and Middle Mountain Trail #608. This campground is suitable for tents and small RVs, though no hookups are available. The site is located within the Rimel Wildlife Management Area, offering opportunities for hunting during appropriate seasons. Visitors should be bear aware and properly store all food in approved containers or locked vehicles.

Directions

From Marlinton take US Route 39 southeast for 12 miles. Turn right (south) on State Route 92. Proceed two miles to Pocahontas Campground.
