The highest amounts will be along the western facing slopes. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations 6 inches or more are possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...In Maryland, Eastern Garrett and Western Garrett Counties. In West Virginia, Western Grant, Western Mineral, and Western Pendleton Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 10 AM EST this morning. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...For the Winter Weather Advisory, plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions along with significant reduction in visibility. Snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility around one-quarter mile at times, causing near blizzard conditions. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage as well. Wind chills will be between 0 and 10 degrees below zero through this morning for most areas. The Tuesday morning commute will be impacted. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow could bring significant impacts the evening of New Year's Eve into New Year's Day. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.

* WHAT...West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * WHERE...Portions of western Maryland, western Virginia, and eastern West Virginia. * WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon. The strongest winds are expected through this morning. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Seneca Shadows Campground is the newest developed campground in the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area, positioned in a picturesque valley overlooking the dramatic 900-foot Seneca Rocks formation. The campground is comprised of 11 standard camping units with electric hookups, 2 double camping units with electric hookups, 23 standard camping units without electric, 2 double camping units without electric, 40 walk-in tent sites, and 3 group tent sites. All sites feature drinking water, fire rings, lantern posts, and picnic tables, with paved spurs for standard camping units. The facility includes modern amenities such as four multiple-toilet flush restrooms with showers, multiple vault restrooms, an RV dump station, trash dumpsters throughout, and an outdoor amphitheater equipped with lighting, sound equipment, and seating. The campground is surrounded by mountains on both the east and west, with most campsites offering outstanding views of Seneca Rocks. Across the street from the campground, rock climbers and hikers can access the trail leading to the top of Seneca Rocks, one of the East Coast's premier rock climbing destinations. The North Fork South Branch Potomac River flows nearby, providing catch-and-release fishing opportunities. The Seneca Rocks Visitor Center features educational displays, viewing platforms, and a gift shop. The campground sits within the ecologically diverse Monongahela National Forest, where elevations range from 1,000 to 4,863 feet and terrain variations support rich biodiversity.
