Jess Judy Group Campground is located on the western banks of the South Branch of the Potomac River within the Monongahela National Forest's Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. The campground offers three tent-only group sites, each capable of hosting up to 40 people, making it well-suited for scout troops, family reunions, or club outings. Each site includes fire rings, picnic tables, and lantern posts, with four single-unit vault toilets serving the area. The surrounding Smoke Hole Canyon provides excellent opportunities for canoeing, fishing, and hiking. Thirty miles of maintained trails are accessible nearby, with mountain biking permitted on most of them. The North Fork Mountain Trail is particularly recommended for hikers and backpackers. The region features beautiful old-growth forests that become vibrant with color in fall. Campers should note there is no potable water at Jess Judy; water can be obtained at Big Bend Campground. The maximum stay is 14 days, and sites are reservable through Recreation.gov. Access roads are subject to flash flooding.

Follow 28/55 from Petersburg, WV, for 8 miles. Turn left onto Smoke Hole Road, Route 28/11, and travel for 13 miles to County Route 2. Turn left onto Smoke Hole Road, County Route 2, and follow for approximately 2 miles. Jess Judy Campground will be on the right.
