About

Meadow Creek Loop is one of several camping loops at Lake Sherwood Recreation Area, perched along the shores of the 164-acre Lake Sherwood, the largest lake in Monongahela National Forest. The campground provides a base for exploring swimming beaches, a boat ramp, and multiple hiking trails including the 7-mile Lake Sherwood Trail that circles the lake. Each campsite includes a parking spur, tent pad, picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. During summer operations, the campground offers full services including restrooms with running water, flush toilets, hot showers, and electricity. During the shoulder seasons of spring and fall, services transition to vault toilets and a hand pump well for water. The recreation area also has a dump station available for RVs. The campground operates seasonally with reservations available through Recreation.gov. An alcohol prohibition order is in effect throughout the Lake Sherwood Recreation Area.
