About
Laurel Fork Campground sits along the banks of Laurel Fork River in the Middle Mountain area of Monongahela National Forest, occupying the historic grounds of a Civilian Conservation Corps camp. This primitive facility offers a quiet, rustic experience between the Laurel Fork North and South Wilderness areas, making it an ideal basecamp for exploring the 18.5 miles of wilderness trails that often follow old railroad grades and logging roads. The campground is truly primitive with no restrooms or potable water available. Each campsite includes a parking spur, picnic table, fire ring, and lantern holder. Campers should be prepared to pack out all trash and bring sufficient water. The area is subject to occasional flooding due to its riverside location. Stock animals are not permitted in the campground.
