The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 2 PM to 9 PM MDT Monday. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 475 and 476. * WIND...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent. * IMPACTS...Wind reaching these speeds and humidity drier than 15 percent can result in rapid fire spread and extreme wildfire intensity.

Clearwater and Idaho Counties outside of reservation boundaries. WHEN: Extended until 3:00PM 8/10/2026 IMPACTS: Members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is less likely to be affected. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Air pollutants can cause breathing difficult for children, the elderly, as well as persons with respiratory problems. Those individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter or smoke are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity during this advisory. Open burning is prohibited by air quality rule. It is also recommended that all other individuals limit prolonged or strenuous activity outdoors. **The Magruder Ranger Station compound will have more noise and activity during the summer of 2026. There will be an increase in traffic, equipment and personnel going in and out of the Magruder Ranger Station, as well as more traffic along the Magruder Corridor and Selway River Road to Paradise Campground. The Administration building on the Ranger Station site will be occupied frequently, and construction work will bring added noise to the Magruder Ranger Station area during the summer of 2026. The Magruder Rangers House will remain open and available to rent throughout the summer season.**
