About

Wendover Campground is situated on a scenic stretch of land along the Wild and Scenic Lochsa River in Idaho's Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Located off US Highway 12, also known as the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway and All American Road, the campground features 27 individual campsites nestled within a mature, moss-covered pine forest. A small stream runs through the area, adding to the serene atmosphere. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding wilderness. Recreational opportunities include fishing in the Lochsa River, hiking and backpacking into the adjacent backcountry, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and taking in interpretive exhibits. The scenic byway itself offers outstanding driving opportunities through historic Lewis and Clark territory. The site can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet in length. The campground typically operates with on-site hosts during the open season.
