Wendover Campground is situated on a stretch of land along the Wild and Scenic Lochsa River off the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway and All American Road (US Highway 12) at mile post 158.2. The campground features 27 campsites, all positioned within a mature, moss-covered pine forest and centered around a small stream, creating a serene atmosphere for visitors. The campground serves as a base for fishing along the Lochsa River, hiking, wildlife viewing, and exploring the surrounding Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The location provides easy access to the scenic Highway 12 corridor while maintaining a peaceful forest setting. When operational, the campground accommodates RVs up to 40 feet in length and provides camp hosts during the season. Typically operating from late May through early October, Wendover Campground offers first-come, first-served sites with basic amenities including vault toilets and hand-pump drinking water. The campground's position along the Wild and Scenic Lochsa River corridor makes it a popular stop for travelers exploring the historic Lolo Trail region.
