Situated along the Middle Fork Clearwater River at milepost 98 on scenic Highway 12, Wild Goose Campground offers a prime location for water-based recreation. The sandy riverside setting provides direct access to tubing, swimming, and whitewater kayaking, with guided trips and equipment rentals available in the nearby towns of Syringa and Lowell, Idaho. This compact campground features 8 campsites with gravel parking, two vault toilets, and drinking water from a hand pump. The campground accommodates RVs up to 24 feet. No stock animals are permitted. The fee is $14 per night for up to 8 people and 2 vehicles per site, with Interagency Senior/Access passes providing a 50% discount. The Highway 12 corridor through this area showcases dense forests, steep canyon walls, and impressive rock outcroppings. The Wild and Scenic River designation protects this stretch of the Clearwater, ensuring pristine water quality for recreation.

From Kooskia, Idaho, follow US Highway 12 east for 20 miles. Wild Goose Campground is on the right side between the highway and the river at milepost 98.
