AQAMSO WHAT: Air Quality Advisory because of degraded air quality due to wildfire smoke. Air Quality Index is forecast to be Unhealthy. WHERE... Clearwater and Idaho Counties outside of reservation boundaries. WHEN: Extended until 3:00PM 8/10/2026 IMPACTS: Members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is less likely to be affected. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Air pollutants can cause breathing difficult for children, the elderly, as well as persons with respiratory problems. Those individuals who are sensitive to increased particulate matter or smoke are encouraged to avoid prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity during this advisory. Open burning is prohibited by air quality rule. It is also recommended that all other individuals limit prolonged or strenuous activity outdoors. About
O'Hara Campground occupies a scenic stretch of the Selway Wild and Scenic River Corridor in the heart of north-central Idaho's Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. The 32-site campground is set among old cedar trees and lush riparian vegetation, offering direct river access for swimming, fishing, and rafting. The Selway River is a destination fly fishing experience for cutthroat and rainbow trout and is also well-known for its challenging whitewater. Each campsite features a picnic table, campfire ring, and paved parking spur. Vault toilets are available and bear-resistant dumpsters are provided for trash. Many sites are accessible for persons with disabilities. Note that the campground's water system is currently not operational; campers must bring their own water or obtain it at Cedar Flats or Johnson Bar Campground nearby. The area offers excellent recreation opportunities including the Stillman Point Trail #335 for day hiking. The campground is near the historic Fenn Ranger Station, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. An 11-mile sightseeing drive from Lowell to Selway Falls showcases the pristine beauty of the Selway Wild and Scenic River and picturesque Selway Falls. Be aware there is no cell phone reception in the area and rattlesnakes are present.
