About
Indian Creek Campground is a small, free primitive campground tucked along the banks of the Selway River in the West Fork Ranger District of the Bitterroot National Forest. The campground consists of just 3 sites and serves as a gateway to the remote backcountry along the Magruder Corridor, one of the most isolated roads in the lower 48 states. The campground provides vault toilets and hitching rails for horse campers, making it a suitable base for equestrian users exploring the surrounding wilderness. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. Garbage service is not provided; pack out all trash. Campfires are permitted subject to seasonal fire restrictions. Weed-free forage is required for all livestock. Access is via the Nez Perce Road (Forest Road 468) which becomes the Magruder Corridor, a rugged single-lane road. The route is approximately 39 miles from West Fork Road and is not plowed in winter. Snow over Nez Perce Pass typically closes access from late fall through late spring. A food storage order is in effect throughout the Bitterroot National Forest.
