About

Rackliff Campground offers a secluded camping experience along the Selway River within the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. This small campground features 6 sites nestled in the forested river corridor, providing excellent access for anglers pursuing brook and rainbow trout in the Selway. A vault toilet serves the campground, though campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available on site. The campground serves as a trailhead for outdoor recreation, with a footbridge crossing Rackliff Creek providing access to Rackliff Ridge Trail #702. This trail climbs north approximately 6 miles to Coolwater Mountain, making the campground an ideal base for day hikes or multi-day backpacking trips. Mountain biking opportunities exist on nearby trails. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a fee season from May 12 through September 30. Off-season camping is permitted, but services such as restroom cleaning are not provided and access may be limited due to snow on Forest Road 223.
