Forestry Operations Scheduled November 4-November 23
Forest management work is scheduled to begin on November 4, 2024 and continue no later than November 22, 2024. Certain park trails will be temporarily closed during this time for visitor safety. Trail closures will be clearly marked.
Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is Cashless
Tours may be purchased online (recreation.gov) or in person with a credit or debit card only. Cash transactions are not available at the park.
Park Closed July 26 Due to Water Line Break
The park will be closed July 26 due to a water line break. Repairs are expected to be complete by the end of the day. The park will reopen on July 27. Trails are open; bathrooms are not available at the park or Billings Farm and Museum.
Select Trails Require Day Use Pass from Woodstock Inn & Resort Nordic Center
Four miles of trail along the carriage road corridors have been designated as ‘Multi-Use Trails’ in winter – walkers are permitted to use these trails free of charge. All other trails require a day/season pass from the Woodstock Inn. See link for details.
Heat Advisory
A heat advisory is in effect. Air conditioning is available in the Visitor Center from 10 AM-5 PM, Thurs-Mon (closed Tues/Weds). Ranger programs may be suspended or shortened for safety. Check Recreation.gov for the latest tour info.
Junior Ranger Loop Detour
The Junior Ranger Loop has been temporarily re-routed for visitor safety due to hazard trees. Alternative routes will be marked. Follow signage and do not enter sectioned off areas.
Alternative and Limited Access During Construction at Park Entrance and Mansion
Visitors and vehicles will be temporarily rerouted and wheelchair access into the mansion will be unavailable during construction. Please call the visitor center for additional information if you use a mobility device or need accessible parking.

* The warm air temperatures today in the upper 60s to lower 70s may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water temperatures. Lake and river temperatures are only in the upper 40s to mid 50s. * The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to anyone immersed in the water. According to the US Coast Guard, when the water temperatures are below 60 degrees, the average submerged person could lose dexterity within minutes and be unable to accomplish simple tasks. Anyone on small boats, canoes or kayaks should plan accordingly if recreating today and use extreme caution to avoid this threat. Paddle smart from the start and always wear your life jacket!

* Air temperatures in the lower 60s to lower 70s this weekend (50s on Sunday) may cause people to underestimate the dangers of the cold water temperatures which are currently only in the mid 50s across Sebago Lake and Lake Winnipesaukee, and in the mid 50s in the regions smaller lakes and rivers. * The cold water temperatures can quickly cause hypothermia to anyone immersed in the water. When the water temperature is below 60 degrees, the average submerged person could loose dexterity within minutes and be unable to accomplish simple tasks. Anyone on small boats, canoes, or kayaks should plan accordingly if recreating this weekend and use extreme caution to avoid this threat. Paddle smart from the start and always wear your life jacket! * Generally light and variable winds shift to southerly today. Winds will be breezy this afternoon with some gusts up to 25 mph. If boating on large bodies of water, these strong winds can increase the likelihood of overturning your boat, canoe, or kayak due to increased wave heights.
