About

Bingo Brook Campground is a primitive dispersed camping area situated along Forest Road 42 in the Rochester Ranger District of Green Mountain National Forest. The 10 designated sites are spread along Bingo Brook, a small mountain stream that runs parallel to the forest road. This is general forest camping at its most basic, ideal for those seeking solitude and a rustic backcountry experience without the crowds of developed campgrounds. The headwaters of Bingo Brook offer some of the best wild trout fishing in Vermont, with both brook trout and rainbow trout present. The surrounding Green Mountain National Forest provides access to hiking trails, including connections to the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail corridor. Stargazing is exceptional due to minimal light pollution in this remote area. This is truly primitive camping with no amenities. There are no restrooms, no potable water, and no trash service. Campers must bring all water or filter from the brook, pack out all trash, and practice Leave No Trace principles. The forest road is not plowed in winter, making vehicle access difficult or impossible during snow season.
