About

Silver Lake State Park sits on the eastern shore of Silver Lake in the small town of Barnard, Vermont, offering one of the more popular camping experiences in the state park system. The 47-site campground includes 29 tent/RV sites, 10 tent-only sites, and 7 lean-to shelters, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Two restroom buildings provide flush toilets, hot and cold running water, and coin-operated showers. An RV dump station is available, though no hookups are provided at individual sites. The park's main draw is its expansive sandy beach with designated swimming area, making it ideal for families. Kayaks, canoes, pedal boats, and rowboats are available for rent at the park office. A car-top boat launch provides access for personal watercraft. The day-use area includes a concession stand, large playground, basketball court, horseshoe pits, and volleyball net. Ranger-led nature programs run throughout the summer season. Silver Lake's proximity to Woodstock and other central Vermont destinations makes it a convenient base camp for exploring the region while enjoying lakeside camping amenities.
