Coolidge State Park Campground

Coolidge State Park sits at elevation in the hills above Plymouth, Vermont, within the 21,500-acre Coolidge State Forest. The campground is arranged across two loops containing 61 sites: 35 lean-tos, 17 tent/RV sites, 8 tent-only sites, and one walk-in lean-to. The park holds the distinction of having the most lean-to sites of any Vermont State Park, with several offering wide views across the Black River Valley to the peaks of the Green Mountains. The steep, winding access road creates a secluded atmosphere but limits RV access to units 28 feet or shorter. Facilities include four restroom buildings with flush toilets and two with coin-operated hot showers. Potable water spigots are distributed throughout the campground, and an RV dump station is available though no hookups exist at individual sites. Each campsite has a fire ring and picnic table. The park features hiking trails, a nature center, horseshoe pit, and a historic log picnic pavilion available for group rental. Cell service and Wi-Fi are available. The campground's elevation and forested setting provide cooler temperatures than valley campgrounds, making it popular during summer months.

Directions

From Plymouth Union, travel north on Route 100A for approximately 3 miles. Turn right onto Coolidge State Park Road and continue 2.5 miles to the park entrance. The road is steep and narrow with sharp turns.
