Camp Plymouth State Park occupies the eastern shore of Echo Lake in the historic town of Plymouth, Vermont. Originally a Boy Scout camp, the park has evolved into southern Vermont's most popular state park, drawing visitors with its combination of lakefront recreation and group camping facilities. The campground features six lean-tos in a dedicated group camping area, along with three group tenting sites that can accommodate up to 20 people each. The park offers four fully furnished rental cottages with electricity, each accommodating up to six guests. For larger gatherings, indoor and outdoor pavilion spaces seat between 60 and 150 people and include electricity, stoves, refrigerators, sinks, and banquet furniture. A beachside concession stand serves visitors during the season. Recreational opportunities extend beyond camping. Echo Lake provides swimming at a sandy beach, cartop boat launching, and rentals for boats and stand-up paddleboards. The park is one of the few places in Vermont where visitors can try gold panning. The Vista Trail winds one mile through white pine forest. Buffalo Brook runs through the property, adding to the natural setting.

Directions

From Route 100, take Scout Camp Road (Town Highway 42) approximately one mile to the park entrance. The paved road bisects the property.
