Willard Bay State Park

Closed — Campgrounds are closed for the season. Flushable bathrooms and showers are closed. The park remains open for day use from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Reservations for camping are typically available from Easter weekend through October 31.

Willard Bay State Park consists of two separate marinas offering state-of-the-art camping and day-use facilities on the shores of Willard Bay, a freshwater reservoir near the Great Salt Lake. The North Marina, located 15 miles north of Ogden just off Interstate 15, features recently renovated campgrounds with modern amenities including hot showers, flush restrooms, a sewage disposal station, and sandy beaches with cabanas. The South Marina offers a more rustic camping experience while still providing modern conveniences. The park is a popular destination for boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing in the warm waters of Willard Bay. Anglers can target crappie, wiper, channel catfish, walleye, yellow perch, and bass. Both marinas provide boat launch ramps, courtesy docks, and seasonal boat slip rentals. The park's tall cottonwood trees provide shade and create a scenic setting for camping under the night sky. During winter months, Willard Bay becomes an excellent wildlife-watching destination, particularly for observing nesting bald eagles. The park also hosts special events including the Fantasy at the Bay Holiday Light Festival. Water levels can fluctuate significantly, and weather conditions can change rapidly creating extreme lake conditions, so visitors should check current conditions before arriving.

Directions

Located in northern Utah approximately 50 miles north of Salt Lake City, just west of I-15. Take exit 357 for the North Marina or exit 351 for the South Marina.
