About
Willard Bay State Park sits on a 9,900-acre freshwater reservoir created by a 14-mile dike along the Great Salt Lake's eastern shore. Located approximately 50 miles north of Salt Lake City, the park offers three distinct camping areas: Cottonwood Campground and Willow Creek at the North Marina, and South Marina Campground. All three campgrounds feature modern amenities including full or partial hookups, flush restrooms, and showers. Sites are shaded by tall cottonwood trees that provide relief from summer heat. The park is popular for boating, fishing (walleye, channel catfish, crappie, and wiper), swimming, and waterskiing. Both marinas offer boat launches, docks, and waterfront day-use areas. Reservations are available through ReserveAmerica from Easter weekend through October 31. Unreserved sites become available first-come, first-served after 3:00 PM on the day of arrival.
Directions
