Maples Campground
Open for dispersed camping year-round. No facilities remain on site. Walk-in access only, approximately half-mile from the gate at lower Snowbasin parking lot. No motor vehicles permitted.
About
Maples Campground, located north of Snowbasin Ski Resort in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, is no longer a developed campground. The Forest Service has removed all picnic tables, fire rings, and restrooms from the site, converting it to a primitive dispersed camping area. The public may still camp in the area but must set up camp away from the trail that passes through the former campground site. Campfires are discouraged due to proximity to trees. Campers should be fully self-sufficient, bringing their own water and packing out all trash. Access is restricted to walk-ins, bicycles, and horses only. No motor vehicles are permitted. The gate is located just off the pavement at the lower Snowbasin parking lot, and the camping area is approximately half a mile via the gravel trail/road from the gate.
Directions
From the lower Snowbasin Ski Resort parking lot, locate the gate at the gravel trail/road entrance. Walk approximately half a mile on the gravel trail to reach the camping area.
