* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southwestern Clay County in north central West Virginia... Pocahontas County in northeastern West Virginia... Southwestern Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia... Webster County in northeastern West Virginia... Northeastern Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia... Nicholas County in southeastern West Virginia... * WHEN...Until 230 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 921 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional light rainfall will continue across the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Summersville, Richwood, Marlinton, Clay, Webster Springs, Cass Scenic Railroad, Green Bank, Addison (Webster Springs), Camden-On-gauley, Camden On Gauley, Craigsville, Snowshoe, Glen, Mingo, Cowen, Durbin, Hillsboro, Bergoo, Upper Glade, and Waneta. - This includes Route 19 between mile markers 34 and 49. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Bolar Mountain Recreation Area

We are currently replacing the Bolar Mountain wastewater treatment plant and are uncertain how this project will affect our 2026 recreation season offerings. Sugar Ridge Campground and Campground 1 at Bolar Mountain Recreation Area will initially** **open for first come first served camping to begin the 2026 recreation season. The Beach Area will initially open as well. There will be limited amenities and port-o-potties will be utilized. Morris Hill Campground will be open and reservations can be made through [recreation.gov][1]. The Picnic Pavilion will remain closed. The facilities are tentatively scheduled to open on May 15th. We will communicate any changes that may occur due to ongoing construction and improvement of these recreation sites.
