FFWTWC The National Weather Service in Tucson has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Western Graham County in southeastern Arizona... East Central Pinal County in southeastern Arizona... * Until 1245 AM MST. * At 1027 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen in the Aravaipa Watershed. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. A stream gauge in the Aravaipa Canyon showed a rapid 6 foot rise and this flood wave is moving downstream. Hikers and campers should move away from the creek now. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness. This includes the following streams and drainages... Deer Creek, Telegraph Wash and Aravaipa Creek.

Coconino County in north central Arizona...the Colorado River near mile marker 62. * Until 1215 AM MST /115 AM MDT/ Tonight. * At 522 PM MST /622 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms that produced heavy rain earlier southwest of Cameron have resulted in a flash flood along the Little Colorado River west of Cameron. Between 1 and 2 inches were estimate by radar earlier in the afternoon. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. The flood wave is expected to reach the Colorado River between 10 PM and 1 AM. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain from thunderstorms earlier. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding along the Little Colorado River west of Cameron. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park. This campground was surrounded by the Rodeo-Chediski fire in the summer of 2002. The area around the campground was severely burned and presents safety hazards, including stump holes and falling limbs and trees. The campground is still forested and trees within the facility have been sprayed with pesticide to help protect against bark beetles.
