About

Scott Reservoir Campground is located in the Lakeside Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, near Lakeside, Arizona. Situated at 6,800 feet elevation near Scott Reservoir, this modestly developed campground has been a popular summer destination for fishing and boating enthusiasts. The reservoir supports a variety of fish species including rainbow trout, brown trout, channel catfish, largemouth bass, green sunfish, bluegill, and carp. Single electric motors are permissible on boats, and an accessible boat ramp is available. When operational, the campground provides 12 designated campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. Camping along the lakeshore is prohibited. Access requires navigating a rough road from Porter Mountain Road (Forest Road 45). No potable water is available at the site. Summer thunderstorms from July through September are frequent and can be abrupt, with lightning posing a significant danger near the water.

Directions

From Lakeside, drive east 0.1 mile on State Highway 260. Turn left onto Porter Mountain Road (Forest Road 45). Continue 1.5 miles and look for the Scott Reservoir sign on the right. Follow the road to the facilities. The access road is very rough in some spots.
