About

Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area opened in 1994 and is managed by Arizona State Parks in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service. Situated at 6,300 feet elevation among ponderosa pines near Show Low, the park provides a cooler mountain escape with camping, fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities. The campground offers 99 reservable sites across three categories: 20 tent-only sites with concrete pads, 62 electric RV sites with 30/50 amp service and water hookups, and group sites. The Mallard and Redhead loops also offer sewer connections. Sites accommodate rigs up to 40 feet, and each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Modern accessible restrooms with hot showers are available at all camping loops. A visitor center and park store operate year-round, and seasonal kayak rentals are available lakeside from May through August. The dump station is open May 1 through October 15. Reservations are made through azstateparks.com with a two-night minimum on weekends from April through October.
