About

Sunset View Campground is located within Navajo National Monument on the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona. This well-maintained, free campground sits above the canyon in a grove of juniper trees and features 31 first-come, first-served sites on paved roads near the visitor center. The campground is open year-round and provides basic amenities including picnic tables, charcoal grills, flush toilets, potable water, and trash collection. The campground can accommodate RVs up to 28 feet and offers a peaceful base for exploring the monument's preserved Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwellings. Sites include parking spaces and are situated in a scenic setting with opportunities for stargazing. A seasonal amphitheater provides interpretive programs when available. Campground fires are not permitted, though charcoal grills are provided at each site. Water systems operate year-round, though in winter months water may occasionally be shut off for frost protection. The location provides convenient access to hiking trails and the visitor center, making it an ideal spot for exploring this lesser-known national monument.
