About

Gentry Campground is a small, peaceful Forest Service campground located at the base of Gentry Fire Lookout in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. Situated at 7,725 feet elevation among ponderosa pines, the campground offers five individual family sites that can also be reserved in their entirety as a group site for gatherings up to 75 people. The campground provides basic amenities including a vault toilet, picnic tables, and campfire grills. Potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own supply. The sand and gravel roads make this site recommended for tents or small campers only due to limited maneuvering space. Located within the Heber Wild Horse Territory, visitors frequently spot herds of free-roaming wild horses in the area. Recreation opportunities include hiking, photography, and wildlife viewing. The campground operates seasonally from May 1 through mid-October and is managed by Advenco LLC under permit from the Black Mesa Ranger District.
